The Basics of Lemon Detox

Lemons have been used for centuries holistically. However, it was not until this present day with the detox revolution that they have been so popular. They have been very under-rated for their actual capabilities of bettering overall human health. The basics of lemon detox, make it even more beneficial because they are simplifies tactics and methods of detoxing with lemons inexpensively. You can start a simple detox with these essentials:

  • Organic or fresh lemons without pesticides and chemicals
  • Purified or distilled water and ice
  • A glass
  • A juicer or your hands
  • A knife
  • A cutting board

You start with cutting the lemons with a knife into if you have a juicer and extracting the juice with or without pulp- every part of the lemon is useful to your body in some aspect. So the more lemon you use the better off you are. In the lemon detox diets they commonly start with one day of detox and then you gradually work your way into a lifestyle where you drink lemonade all the time. After you have extracted the juice you can mix a few tablespoons, or cup depending on taste into a glass of distilled water. Then you simple drink it- however you can go into a more in-depth type of diet by using salt water flushes, fasting, and exercise to reap better rewards. Here is how you can make a salt water flush:

  • 2 tsp. of un-iodized sea salt
  • 2 quarts of purified or distilled water (warm is best)

Take the salt and thoroughly stir it into the warm water… The best way to address this is to chug it- It is not tasty. If you prefer, add a squeeze of lemon for taste and chug or drink. You may just down it- and you won’t taste the salt as much. It is not pleasant as you may feel nauseous for about 5 minutes, and then the tummy will start to gurgle. I call it brewing. What happens next is not pleasant- however it is all normal, make sure that you are at home. Do not pass gas or you will be sorry. The salt water flush will be followed with several bathroom trips which will consist of mainly water stools. Do not be alarmed. Its ridding your colon along with the lemon detox diet of impurities and crud that has remained in your body. With the combination of the lemon juice and the salt water flush you have the basis of starting a lemon detox diet all on your own. You may even find that after several days of dieting and exercise along with the juice and flush you lose up to 5 pounds. You can see what the raves are about, and start feeling healthier all by drinking lemon juice daily and using it as a lifestyle choice.

I have been practicing the lemon juice and water diet as part of my simple hassle free detoxification. Losing weight is just something I serendipitously discovered along the way. It was a pleasant surprise to learn that my lemon and water therapy program has the “side effect” of aiding weight control. You need not go on a crash diet plan, counting calories every single time you eat, a better alternative for most people is the easy, inexpensive, and effective lemon juice diet.
